A GoFundMe account set up to ensure that murdered British national Adrian St John gets the “farewell he deserves” has so far amassed more than $100,000.

The account which was opened on Tuesday by Brandon Kenlock has attracted £11,055 in donations.

The account is entitled “In loving memory of Adrian St John.”

St John, 22, an aspiring cricketer, was shot dead during an apparent robbery last Sunday in Mt D’Or.

Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard on Friday night gave police the instructions to charge 24-year-old Maldon Pascall with the murder.

St John’s death has gathered international attention with the United Kingdom’s travel advisory to the country making specific mention of it.

GoFundMe is a crowdfunding platform that allows people to raise money for events.

Kenlock opened the account days after St John’s death.

“Adrian was a charming, ambitious young man who had his life tragically taken. Adrian had his whole life ahead of him and was loved dearly by his family and all that had the privilege of knowing him. He was a true gent that will be sadly missed by all as publicised by the media globally.

“The family of Adrian St John are in humble appreciation of the generous outpouring of affection, admiration and empathy for our loss and celebration of Adrian’s life. Please contribute by supporting the family to give Adrian the farewell he deserves. We are gracious to all those that want to support us at this difficult time. Thank you,” the description on the account stated.

After donations for the account surpassed the £10,000 mark, Kenlock posted an update.

“Words cant begin to express my own and Adrian’s families gratitude for the incredible support we have received from each and every single one of you so far. When I started this two days ago I never thought we would raise so much money, yet alone dream, and to be able to say we’ve hit a second milestone of £10k is incredible and I am truly lost for words,” it stated.

“On behalf of myself and Adrian’s family I would like to reiterate that we are so grateful for all of your donations and all of your fantastic support during this really hard period. Adrian was such a genuine, clean-hearted person and such a fun character to be around. His bubbly nature rubbed off on everyone around him and anyone that knows Adrian has only positive things to say about him. Adrian was loved by so many people and he is going to be missed dearly”.

“Adrian deserves everything and more and this is just the start! Thank you once again and let’s keep going to support Adrian’s family give him the send off he deserves,” Kenlock’s update stated.

A date for St John’s funeral has not been announced as yet.
