Lennox Roach knew he was marked for death but even though he was fearful, he continued to live life normally.
On Sunday about 8.15 pm, Roach’s predictions of death materialised when two masked men stormed into his Edward Trace, Moruga, home, plannassed his girlfriend Allana Mohammed, 36, and then pumped four bullets into his body.
Police said Roach, 41, aka Bo, was also chopped across the face and shot in the head, chest and neck.
Investigators reported that Mohammed told them she was upstairs when she looked out and noticed a man coming towards the house. As she went to investigate, the assailant hit her with the flat side of the cutlass.
Ordering Mohammed to “hush her mouth” the assailants pushed Mohammed towards the stairs and then ran into the living room where Roach was watching television.
As Mohammed fled to get help from the neighbours, four gunshots rang out. Mohammed’s sister, Beverly Morgan, said: “My sister called me to say they now shoot Bo. I told her to go and see if he was really dead and she said the neighbour already checked.”
Morgan said Roach had predicted his death. “He said they shoot his friend and he would be next,” Morgan said. Asked whether Roach took any additional precautions, Morgan said no. Another relative who requested anonymity said Roach had a dispute with a group of men two years ago in which he chopped a man on the head. He was later charged.
The men retaliated a week later, smashing Roach’s vehicle and chopping him several times.
The father of six spent a few days in the hospital. Police said it was possible that Roach’s death was a reprisal killing.
He had a criminal record and had several pending cases in the Princes Town Magistrates Court for marijuana possession and assault.
