Western Division officers are searching for a second suspect in relation to the shooting death of two-year-old Keyra Singh.
The man, in his early 20s, is the final suspect police say is wanted for the killing of Singh.
On Tuesday, a 27-year-old Diego Martin man was arrested in relation to Singh’s murder. He remains in police custody.
According to police reports, officers of the Western Division went to the man’s home at North West Drive, Patna Village, Diego Martin, around noon on Tuesday and arrested him. The man, police said, is one of two suspects who were being sought in relation to the shooting that took place around 1 am Tuesday.
Keyra was asleep on a bed in the family’s wooden home at Good Session, Patna Village, when gunmen opened fire.
The child was on the bed with her mother, Neilya Singh, father Keron Paul and unnamed ten-day-old sister.
After the shooting, the child lay bleeding from a bullet wound to the abdomen. She died in the arms of her aunt, Dana Paul, while on the way to St James Medical Complex. Police said yesterday the gunmen’s target was the child’s father, who they say, was owing the shooters for drugs he took on consignment. Relatives of Paul have denied he is involved in drugs.
