A female employee of Courts Furniture Store in Tobago was warded at the Scarborough General Hospital after she was stabbed by a male relative on Thursday. The victim is identified as Leeanda Fletcher-Burris of Charlotteville, Tobago.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 11.30 am at the Courts Gulf City Mall, Lowlands, branch. T&T Guardian understands that the male relative entered the store to speak with Fletcher-Burris and an argument ensued. Police said the man took out a knife and stabbed Fletcher-Burris about the body. He then fled.
Fletcher-Burris was assisted by co-workers. She was taken to the Scarborough General Hospital by ambulance where she is said to be in a satisfactory condition. Up to late yesterday the male relative remained at large.
Old Grange Police are continuing investigations.
