As police continue the search for missing businesswoman Carolyn Katwaroo, her family is appealing to her close friends to share details of her acquaintances and places she frequented.
In a tearful plea yesterday, Katwaroo’s sister, Karen, said although there had been no positive feedback on the whereabouts of her sister, they remained hopeful that she would return to them soon.
Katwaroo, 43, a divorcee, lived alone at Cedar Drive, Block 5, Palmiste, and was last seen around 8 pm Friday.
Alarms were raised when her white Mercedes Benz was found abandoned on the roadside at Union Hall, San Fernando, on Saturday morning.
Her disappearance comes two months after she was allegedly assaulted outside her home.
Investigators said she operates a business which sells imported vegetables. They said she was also the close friend of a multi-millionaire in south Trinidad, who owns several businesses around San Fernando.
Speaking by telephone, Karen said: “What we are asking for is for anybody that saw her, who can just give us an idea who she limes with and where she goes to come forward because information will help.
“We want information to solve this. We don’t have further news on her, everybody is still looking.
“Police are doing everything possible to help us. They are really working on the case. It is just that we are trying to get to her with as much information from the public or anyone that can come forward with information to find her.
“We are not losing hope, we have to keep pushing on and pressing to find her.
“She must come home. We must find her and we are just begging and pleading with anyone out there who knows anything at all to just come forward and give the information, and pray for her.”
Anyone with information can contact San Fernando Police Station 652-2564 or the Anti Kidnapping Squad 679-3195. (KF)
Separate unsolved case
Meanwhile, police continue their search for missing lecturer Glenda Charles-Harris, the head of the Environmental Studies Department at the College of Science Technology and Applied Arts (Costaatt).
Charles Harris, 78, was last seen leaving her home at Blue Range, Diego Martin, on July 27.
She was expected to report for work at Costaatt's city campus in Port-of-Spain that morning but college officials confirmed she never arrived.
Her maroon Nissan Almera was found the following day in the teak fields of Indian Walk, Princes Town, with the windows down and the immobiliser missing.
Police led several days of search in the teak fields based on tip-offs but up to yesterday she remained missing.
