Police are investigating the discovery of a woman’s semi-nude body at her home in Malabar yesterday afternoon.
Police said relatives of Melise Coutain, 49, went to check on her around 5 pm yesterday, only to find her body on her bed with what appeared to be marks of violence on her neck and face.
Police said a vehicle belonging to Coutain, who was last seen on Sunday night, was missing and while they have not ruled out foul play they will await autopsy results before making any pronouncement on the cause of her death.
In an unrelated incident, an Arima man was found murdered in front his home yesterday morning, hours after residents said they heard gunshots in the area.
According to police, around 7.35 am officers of the Arima CID responded to a report of a body found at Unityville Extension, Darwill Gardens. On arrival officers found the body of Kishore Dougrah, 38, on the roadway not too far from his home.
Police said neighbours heard gunshots around 3 am yesterday but only found Dougrah’s body while on their way to work.
