Hundreds lined the street of Sangre Grande yesterday to look at Ramleela street parade.
Characters dressed in brightly coloured costumes depicting, Ram, Seeta, Lutchman, Hindu god Hanuman, with Ravan and his followers who were dressed in black, danced along the main street of Sangre Grande, accompanied by tassa players.
Pundit Bownath Maharaj, who heads the Sangre Grande Ramleela Committee, said the celebration ended later yesterday when Rawan effigy were burned.
The celebration took place at Sangre Grande Hindu School Recreation Ground, Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande.
