The body of a man who was found in Las Cuevas last week has been identified as missing PH driver Michael Dennis. According to police reports, residents of Las Cuevas saw Dennis’ body lying in a track off the side of the road on October 12 and thought he was drunk.
The following day when the residents saw the body in the same position they became suspicious and called the police.
Dennis’ body was taken to the Forensic Science Centre pending an autopsy. Dennis, 48, was reported missing at the Maloney Police Station by his sister the day his body was found.
Dennis, who worked at the Ministry of Works and Transport, lived at Building 1, Maloney Gardens, D’Abadie, left his home on the morning of October 12, to ply his taxi, a Nissan Tiida. Police are still trying to locate the car. An autopsy will be done today to determine the cause of death.
In an unrelated case, homicide detectives are continuing investigations into the shooting death of a teenaged schoolboy in Morvant on Friday night. Dead is 15-year-old Joel Huggins, a pupil of the Success Laventille Secondary School.
According to reports, Huggins was with his older brother standing outside an apartment building at Almond Court in Morvant when they were approached by a man. When Huggins’ brother saw the man he immediately ran away. The man opened fire on Huggins.
Huggins died on the spot.
