A couple from Laventille has become the country’s latest murder victims.
Andre La Touche and Abiola Noel were leaving Noel’s Eastern Quarry, Laventille home in a silver Nissan Tiida around 8.30 this morning when gunmen approached the moving vehicle and fired several shots.
The driver then crashed the vehicle into a concrete dumpster.
Residents said the gunmen approached the vehicle apparently to ensure that the occupants were dead before leaving.
Police said La Touche was originally from 5th Street, Barataria where he had an altercation with men from the same area some time ago.
Police suspect this morning’s shooting was in retaliation for that prior shooting.
In an unrelated issue, there is a report of a body found in east Port-of-Spain. More details to follow.
