Dozens of tickets for next week’s Machel Monday and Kes Tuesday on the Rocks concerts were stolen when armed bandits raided the Converse Store,  Chaguanas.

Police said around 1.15 pm Tuesday, store manager Christian Ali, 20, employees — Katherina Lecis, 22, Chereece Maharaj, 21 — and customer Anu Ramlakhan, 21  — were at the store’s Price Plaza outlet when the bandits stormed.

The men, both wearing coveralls and face masks, said it was a hold-up and ordered the victims to a storeroom at the back of the store, where they were tied up.

The men then stole the day and weekend’s sales, a quantity of tickets for the Machel Monday concert carded for next Monday, Kes’ Tuesday on the Rocks concert carded for next Tuesday and the Momentum concert next Thursday.

The men then went back to the storeroom and stole Lecis’ Apple iPhone 6s, Maharaj’s Digicel cellphone and Ramlakhan’s Apple iPhone before running off.

The victims were able to free themselves and contacted Chaguanas police. PC Khan and other officers from the Major Crime Unit and Central Division Task Force responded and interviewed the victims.

Checks were made in and around the area for the suspects but they were not found. One of the iPhones was tracked and later recovered on the Solomon Hochoy Highway near the Freeport overpass. PC Nanan is continuing enquires.
