Police are investigating the murder of a La Horquetta man who was shot dead at his girlfriend’s Tacarigua home on Saturday night.
Investigators said Stefan Noray, 28, was at his girlfriend’s home at Fourth Street West, Dinsley, when was shot by two intruders shortly before midnight. He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police said they have detained a 40-year-old man in connection with the murder after they intercepted a car at Curepe moments after the shooting. Officers from the Arouca CID and Homicide Bureau visited the scene.
And in a separate incident, police were called in after the decomposing body of a farmer was found in the forest, off El Dorado Road, Tunapuna by hunters yesterday. Relatives identified the farmer as Granville Jessop.
In 2011, Jessop was accused of injecting 2,000 avocados with an insecticide to deter thieves from stealing his produce, a claim he later denied. Investigators said they are awaiting an autopsy on Jessop’s body before classifying the case.
