Housing Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal yesterday called on the Media Association of T&T (Matt) to launch a full-scale investigation into allegations raised by investigative journalist Anika Gumbs against Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley.
Moonilal described Gumbs’ revelations, which led to her resignation from the Express newspaper, as “shocking and grave.”
Moonilal urged Matt to probe the matter to determine if there was any misconduct on Rowley’s part.
He spoke at an HDC key distribution ceremony in Port-of-Spain.
Moonilal said while he was unaware that Gumbs had received a contract under the PP administration, the Government had not offered her any contracts or inducements to destabilise the PNM on the eve of the election.
